2nd International Student Leadership Symposium: Strategic Platform for Future FSPPP Leaders

KEDAH, 27 November – Five representatives from the Diploma in Public Administration Club (DiPAC) and the Student Representative Council of the Faculty of Administrative Science and Policy Studies (FSPPP), Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) Kelantan Branch, took part in the 2nd International Student Leadership Symposium. The event, themed “Regional Resilience: ASEAN Public Policy and Administration”, was held at UiTM Kedah Branch from 22nd to 23rd November 2025. The delegation was accompanied by the DiPAC advisor, Mr. Muhammad Syafiq Hassan.

This program aimed to bring together FSPPP student leaders from all UiTM branches to promote knowledge exchange on ASEAN-related issues, strengthen connections among branches, and address common issues faced by FSPPP students. Organised by UiTM Kedah Branch, the symposium also included participants from USM, UNIMAS, UUM, and foreign exchange students from China. One of the main components of the event was the ASEAN Strategic Forum, titled “ASEAN Next Gen Strategic Leadership”. This forum discussed current ASEAN issues and explored strategies to address them, offering new ideas and perspectives for future leaders.

Representing UiTM Kelantan, the delegation presented their research titled “From Local to Regional Screens: The Impact of Malaysian Animation on ASEAN Cultural Identity”. Participants from other institutions also presented papers on topics including UNDI18 and toxic leadership, contributing to a diverse and insightful academic exchange. These sessions enhanced participant’s research communication skills and deepened their understanding of emerging policy issues.

On the second day, the delegation joined FSPPP Academic Dialogue & Strategic Session with the representative of the FSPPP Dean, Dr Mohd Ramlan. The session began with opening remarks before moving into a dialogue where student leaders from UiTM Kelantan, Seremban, and Kedah discussed campus-specific issues and proposed possible solutions. The program continued with ice-breaking activities that helped strengthen cooperation and foster closer ties among the branches.

The delegation from UiTM Kelantan Branch expressed sincere appreciation to UiTM Kedah Branch for the invitation and also for successfully organising a meaningful and impactful event that strengthened leadership knowledge, inter-campus collaboration, and academic engagement.
